Senior Pensions Team Leader

Reporting to the Payroll and Pensions Manager, the senior pensions team leader will play a key role in ensuring that the pensions administration function delivers an excellent experience to employees, retirees, and their families.

Responsible for the day-to-day line management of the pensions team, the senior team leader will also provide team members with support, advice and guidance.


In particular, you will:
ensure effective day-to-day line management of the pension team

deliver a timely and accurate pension administration function, leading to employees, retirees, and their families feeling valued

understand and implement changes to pensions practice so that WMFS remain legislatively compliant

foster an environment for continuous development - ensuring that systems, practices, and processes remain efficient and aligned to legislation

understand pension team performance - celebrating success, and escalating concerns, where appropriate.

experience in a pension practitioner role, preferably within the public sector, with a relevant pension qualification (or working towards)

experience of line managing a team (desirable, but not essential)

ability to interpret and analyse complex data and present information concisely to a variety of audiences

ability to work under pressure against challenging - and often competing - deadlines

excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels and build credibility quickly

high levels of flexibility and adaptability, with an enthusiastic approach and a 'can do' attitude.
