Practice Leader - Claims Defensibility & Regulatory (Home based)

This role will be home based with travel to WTW offices and clients where required.


The Role
As Practice Leader, you will manage the Claims Defensibility & Regulatory Practice which delivers a range of services including:

  • Claims Auditing
  • Claims Defensibility & Regulatory Reviews
  • Claims Defensibility Training
  • Mock Trial Training
  • Helping to develop our training proposition such as writing and filming Mock Trials
  • Seminars and other training events


You will be expected to 'dual hat' as a member of the Practice, with sales, client management, delivery and / or people management responsibilities, with the Practice Leader responsibilities representing approximately 40% of your time.


This includes managing a team of home-based consultants, creating and delivering a range of Risk Management services, and supporting Regional Directors and Industry Practice Leaders, Account Teams, New Business Leads, Project Managers, Loss Managers, etc.

to deliver GB Retail's strategic and financial goals.


You will be responsible for the full spectrum of activities related to our propositions - from assessing market needs to developing intellectual capital to taking it to market.


Responsibilities will include:

  • Assessing the regional marketplace for opportunities and identifying product / service offerings to respond to those opportunities and that existing services are fit for purpose
  • Participating in the design, execution and rollout of new services by leading and coordinating the work of the CD&R team and collaborating with Industry Practice Leaders, Regional Directors, Loss Management, Sales, etc. to
  • Develop and deliver the proposition strategy
  • Develop and disseminate solutions and intellectual capital to support GB Retail clients
  • Develop and execute marketing plans
  • Playing a visible, external role as a senior, wellrounded and experienced practitioner
  • Promote GB Retail and WTW as a leader in the market with superior industry knowledge, insights and solutions
  • Developing / fostering a community of colleagues who will deliver on the Goals of the Practice
  • Supporting new business and account defences
  • Delivering a range of services including; Claims Auditing, Claims Defensibility & Regulatory Reviews, Claims Defensibility Training, Mock Trial Training, seminars and other events.
Principal Duties / Responsibilities

  • Collaboration with other Risk Management Practice Leaders, Regional Directors, Industry Practice Leaders, Head of Claims and Sales Leaders to deliver a coordinated, valueadded proposition for GB Retail clients
  • Development and regular updating of the Claims Defensibility & Regulatory proposition to reflect the changing risk landscape and needs of clients
  • Overall responsibility for marketing and promotional activities of the Practice
  • Ensuring management reporting and information is accurate and up to date
  • Leading on complex projects and new business leads
  • Engaging with clients to help them assess current arrangements around the defensibility of claims and regulatory action
  • Providing objective advice and direction on a wide range of risk issues
  • Supporting clients with the creation, amendment, and or / revision of documentation, policies and procedures as part of overall avoidance and defence strategies
  • Delivery of training sessions relating to accident investigation and other related areas
  • Delivering new product initiatives and innovation
Proposition Management

  • Ensure the proposition is up to date and fit for purpose
  • Deliver the objectives of the Claims Defensibility & Regulatory Practice in support of the wider Risk Management strategic objectives
  • Provide objective advice and direction to clients and Account teams on a wide range of risk issues
  • Support Account teams in account defences, new business propositions, and in servicing existing clients' risk management needs
  • Work with Account teams, Loss Management, Head of Client, Sales teams (incl. Head of RM Sales) to build the service proposition and help identify and define client needs
  • Leveraging industry insight, contribute to the development of the proposition for the WTW GB Retail business and other lines of business where appropriate
  • Share best practice with the wider Risk Management Team Practice Leaders, Account Teams and Business Unit Leaders as appropriate
  • Identify and manage key external and internal stakeholders (incl. Loss Management, other RM Practice Leaders, Sales teams, new business producers, service teams, etc.) in the promotion and delivery of our services.
Growth and Business Development

  • Work with Business Unit Leaders, Regional Directors, Industry Practice Leaders, Loss Management, Sales and Marketing teams to build and deliver propositionspecific engagement and delivery plans for the practice
