North Devon Council is building on the success of our exemplary teams by recruiting accomplished graduates to be developed as generalist compliance practitioners.

We have an established team of experienced officers and are well placed to provide mentoring and development. We are supported by Elected Members and Senior Management to grow the team and deliver exciting projects.


You will initially work in the Food, Health and Safety Team and develop competence as a food inspector but will also be deployed as a practitioner in Environmental Protection, Private Sector Housing, Licensing and Planning Enforcement.

You are more likely to be shortlisted if you have some experience working in local government or have experience in a compliance role.

We have committed to establishing a team where graduates can grow within the organisation.
