We have an exciting opportunity for a housekeeper to support our new service, Radcliffe Place opening in Spring 2023. The new service is located in Radcliffe, Bury.


Radcliffe Place is a new service for people with a learning disability who are experiencing crisis to prevent admission into Hospital.

Radcliffe Place is a 4 bedded unit for people aged 16-25 years.

As a housekeeper you will be supporting young people at Radcliffe Place with facilitating meals and attending to non-clinical needs, as well and ensuring that the environment is welcoming, clean, comfortable, and safe.


You will support staff in maintaining the ward environment, liaise closely with the Facilities Service Manager and the Estates Help Desk, ensuring that all issues pertaining the patients' environment and needs are dealt with efficiently.

All training will be provided.

The post holder will assist staff in the delivery of non-clinical care. The post holder will ensure tidiness, cleanliness, effective stock control and equipment management.

The post holder will support the Learning Disabilities Multi-Disciplinary Team in maintaining a safe clinical environment and participate in service audits as required.

The post holder will provide clerical support where necessary and in the absence of administration staff.

The post holder will support the clinical team in maintaining the nutritional needs of the patients.


To maintain high standards of general cleanliness and tidiness of all wards / clerical environments and replacement of fabric and furniture as required, liaising with the domestic staff and organising spot cleaning and terminal cleaning as necessary.

Liaising with clinical staff regarding admissions, discharges to ensure terminal cleans are completed and areas are ready for new admissions.

Working within the role of the Infection Control Champion, as directed by the Trust infection Control. The completion of the weekly infection control audits/cleaning schedule and report to the shift coordinator any issues. Ensure all hospital bays meet requirements of the Infection Control Policy and cleaning standards.

To ensure that all stock levels are maintained and sufficient to meet hospital demands. To contribute to cost effective control of medical, surgical and food items. This will include laundry stock.

Checking the expiry date of food and drinks in all kitchen fridges and also stock rotation, this will include recording kitchen fridge temperatures.


Ensure the dietary needs of patients are addressed following nursing direction and to liaise with the Catering Department about dietary supplies, supplements and special needs whilst ensuring meal provision is maintained to the highest standard.

This includes collection of menu cards and the laying of tables at meal. To ensure hot/cold drinks and snacks are available as required during any 24 hour period. To maintain and monitor equipment as "fit for use".

To maintain effective liaison and communication with the following services to ensure service level agreements are achieved:


  • Estates / Maintenance
  • Distribution contacts
  • Domestic Services
  • Infection Control Nurse
  • Stock suppliers


As and when necessary carry out general office clerical duties - answering the telephone taking messages communicating with patients and visitors.
