Pay Bracket:
£26,000 - £30,000 DOE

*Junior roles also available*Our client is a forward-thinking charitable organisation based in South Manchester who are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Accounts Payable specialist to join them in a supervisory role.

This position will be fast-paced and varied, working directly alongside the Head of Finance. Together, you'll ensure the smooth running of the payables department, maintaining clean ledgers and excellent relationships with suppliers.

This is a fantasticopportunity for someone who is looking to progress their career within purchase ledger, with flexibility on offer, autonomy over your workload and scope to become involved in people management and upskilling of junior staff.


Your main roles and responsibilities:

This role revolves around the management of multiple purchase ledgers

  • Supplier statement reconciliations
  • Managing weekly company payment runs alongside the head of finance
  • Producing reports and tracking outstanding invoices, reducing outstanding payments and ensuring efficient payments
  • Assisting with the management of junior staff onboarding and training, upskilling, and teaching on the internal systems
  • Setting up new suppliers and maintaining accurate details of existing accounts
  • Assisting in company system upgrades
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Month end close


An ideal person fit for this position is someone with a proven background in AP who is looking to develop their career, or someone in a position of the same level who is looking for a new challenge.


  • Exposure working within a large organisation / shared services environment is highly beneficial to the role
  • Good understanding of cash flow and ability to produce reports
  • Experience of general ledger accountancy and a strong background of purchase ledger / accounts payable is ideal
  • Strong interpersonal skills and able to build rapport quickly and effectively with others
  • Good time management and organisation skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Experience working across multiple ledgers is highly advantageous group background / experience
