Job Title:
Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Advisor


Line Manager:
EHS Manager


Purpose of Role


The Environmental Health and Safety Advisor is responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of International Beverages' integrated management system whilst focusing on the integrity and effectiveness of the day-to-day environmental, health and safety programs, processes, policies, and procedures.

Collaborating with the operations, maintenance, and contractors to support the safe operations and maintenance activities whilst also working closely with all sites to implement standardised processes in safety and support continuous improvement opportunities.


Responsibilities

  • A Provide environmental health and safety technical support to assist the business in achieving and maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies
  • Support the key deliverables and KPIs for the business as it relates to its environmental health and safety strategy
  • Provide coaching and leadership to ensure incidents are reported
  • Support incident investigations
  • Internal ISO management system audits, identifying discrepancies, and drive correction actions as needed
  • Provide accurate and timely guidance to operations managers on internal environmental health and safety policies
  • Participate in the EHS review of projects; identify equipment, process, and chemical hazards; assess environmental health and safety impacts and recommend solutions
  • Participate in and prepare for audits and inspections conducted by Local authority, Regulators and the business
  • Support the integration of human factors aspects into critical operating procedures, incident investigations and health and safety programs including projects and contractor work activities

Working Conditions

  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Role is primarily office based at Airdrie Site with requirement to visit production areas at Airdrie and Distilleries

  • Selfstarter, able to work own their own initiative

Qualifications & Experience


A bachelor's degree (or equivalent) is required in Health and Safety management, Environmental management, Industrial Hygiene or a scientific/engineering discipline.


Demonstratable experience in:

  • Working in high hazard environments i.e. DSEAR/COMAH controls
- interpreting specialist risk assessments i.e. OBRA/HAZOP/COMAH Safety Report
- working to CDM regulations

  • ISO 14001/45001 internal auditor

Demonstrated experience of:
- providing coaching and support to operations and contractors
- risk-based safety programs and delivery of health and safety performance plans
- environmental health and safety performance and trend analysis
- effective communication skills to drive personnel engagement and empowerment to create a sustainable safety culture
- experience with human performance programs
- working with continuous improvement methodologies

  • Minimum of 3 years environmental health and safety experience

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent


Salary:
£30,000.00-£37,000.00 per year
