Castlefield Recruitment are currently working in partnership with Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) which is at the forefront of devolution and headed by Mayor Andy Burnham.

GMCA is made up of a number of key Greater Manchester strategic functionsincluding; Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS); Waste and Resources; Economy; Environment; Work and Skills; Digital; Public Sector Reform; Police, Crime and Criminal Justice.


Role:


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Procurement Business Partner (Place) to join GMCA's large Commercial Services team, responsible for the Place category.

GMCA are about to secure a new 'trail blazer devolution deal' with the government andthe Commercial team key to its successful delivery.

This is a fast paced, supportive environment and there is a lot to go at from building new fire stations to enabling the City's low carbon journey.

Duties will include;

  • Leading on large scale/highvalue strategic procurements
  • Planning and coordinating procurement activity through liaison with Directorates
  • Managing frameworks open to external partners
  • Identifying business improvements and driving change
  • Achieving VfM commercial outcomes
  • Upholding the ethical integrity of the organisation

Person:


The successful Senior Procurement Business Partner:

  • Record of success operating at senior level within Procurement
  • MCIPS or equivalent level of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of similar categories or previous experience in a large complex organisation
  • Demonstrable understanding of public sector procurement regulation and best practice
  • Strong communicator, stakeholder manager and team player
