We are a multi-award winning, friendly, family run business with over 40 years of experience.


Our landscape design company provides high quality, bespoke garden design and construction services, and is based at our award-winning specialist plant nursery in a beautiful rural environment.


We are looking for a key member of staff to provide administrative support for the leadership team and run the office on a day-to-day basis.


This interesting job role provides a variety of different daily activities to ensure the efficient and smooth running of the company, and will be carried out in a busy but fun & friendly office environment.


Key duties include:


  • Diary management managing the office diary, scheduling activities and flagging key dates.
  • Meetings joining a weekly office meeting to brief a small team (less than 5 people) on upcoming activities and priorities.
  • Reporting including managing and maintaining a construction site diary detailing key activities on site. Updating the new customer enquiries database. Figures to be included in a weekly report.
  • Personnel related administration such as setting up personnel files, preparing payroll hours for the payroll clerk (but not paye), managing holiday requests, updating signing in sheets etc.
  • Accounts processing delivery notes, statements and invoices and filing accordingly.
  • Suppliers liaising with suppliers to ensure the smooth running of the business. Suppliers include couriers, plant suppliers etc.
  • Filing implementing and maintaining the office filing system.
  • Vehicles and equipment maintaining a log of current company vehicles and equipment and ensuring all records (such as services and MOTs) are up to date. Working with the team to ensure all relevant equipment has been security tagged.
  • Office / nursery supplies working with the production team to manage stocks in both the office and the nursery. Maintaining a database of stock items to include supplier details and costs.
  • Nursery support providing the production team with various forms and information as required
  • Landscaping support working with the landscaping team to ensure they have everything they need to carry out their duties. This could include ensuring printing risk assessment forms, daily vehicle check forms etc.
  • Management support supporting the management team in other tasks as and when required. This could include assisting with recruitment, marketing, events etc.

Experience:

You will need to be able to demonstrate that you have relevant experience in an administrative role.


Qualifications:

Appropriate qualification in Office Administration would be a distinct advantage

Book Keeping Qualifications and ability to use Xero is not essential, but a distinct advantage


Skills:

You will need to:


  • Have good organisational skills being competent in prioritising work
  • Exhibit meticulous attention to detail.
  • Have experience of Xero accounts package is not essential but a distinct advantage

Nitty Gritty:


  • Full Time Permanent Position
  • Hours: seasonal fluctuation
March till August inclusive Monday to Friday 9:00 am until 5:00 pm

September till February inclusive Monday to Friday 9:00 am until 4:00 pm

with 30 minutes for lunch (paid)
Annual Leave: 20 days plus all statutory Bank Holidays

  • Pension: statutory pension via NEST
  • Two previous employment references will be essential
Own transport to and from work essential. There is no public transport to our nursery


Job Types:

Salary:
£23,000.00-£27,000.00 per year
