Complaints & Review Case Officer - 6 Months Secondment


This role will be a necessity to the management and preparation of cases for senior decision makers reviewing complaints about services at the GMC and ensure they demonstrate our commitment to excellence by providing feedback within the organisation.


Summary of the role and main responsibilities:

  • To maintain accurate records in the GMC's case management system
  • Progress cases and deal with all correspondence in a timely and appropriate way
  • To investigate the background of all complaints and draft responses
  • To prepare complaints and review reports to include the full background of the complaint
  • To consult with internal and external legal advisors on casework matters
  • To liaise with senior manager and other staff across the GMC during your complaint's investigation
  • To deal with calls from both customers and Doctors in relation to casework daily


The Complaints & Review Officer will play a leading role in the corporate review team by dealing with complaints about the services of the GMC and correspondence and casework in relation to reviews of decisions to close Fitness to Practise concerns about doctors.
