Using the innovative technology of phase only holography, we are making this a reality

We've already assembled some of the world's top scientists & engineers from worldwide renowned companies and due to our success and growth, Envisics is now looking to open the doors to entry level talent, in the form of three industrial placements.

Industrial placements last for 1 year and are for undergraduate students.

Summary of Role

Role will include laboratory work, measuring performance of SLM Device characteristics, collecting and analysing data and presenting results to the design team

Key responsibilities

Use a range of measurement techniques to evaluate novel Holographic Spatial Light Modulators
Where necessary automate measurements to increase throughput and speed of data gathering.
Where necessary use computational modelling tools to further enhance understanding of device performance.
Interact with wider R&D teams to present the results of measurements or modelling activities.

Minimum requirements

Sound basic knowledge of optics, Principles of diffraction and physics
Experience of laboratory work, at undergraduate level or above. Specifically, Laser based optical experiments
Knowledge of Spatial Light Modulators (LCOS) would be useful but not essential
Scripting and programming skills are beneficial, e.g. Matlab, Python
Demonstrated ability to plan experiments, design and build test equipment, carry out measurements, record results and analyse data (programming skills useful but not essential)
Demonstrated good communications skills report writing, presentations, team working.
Familiarity with Microsoft tools: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint desirable
