    Job Summary

    The Long-Range Planner will balance supply and demand by evaluating and interrogating the ERP system against materials, capacities, and resources to meet customer expectations.

    This critical role supports Customer On Time Delivery and enables the creation of the master schedule in line with customer requirements and business strategies.

    Main Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Resolve MRP Action messages by balancing supply and demand and escalating perceived risks to ensure appropriate focus supports resolution and customer OTD targets.
    • Review job creation suggestions in MRP and create works orders.
    • Support production teams in achieving the production schedule through effective communication, problem-solving, and inter-departmental liaison.
    • Coordinate and facilitate daily MRB outputs to the Planning Team as appropriate.
    • Drive OTR targets through daily and weekly standard work.
    • Support NPI development projects as required.
    • Evaluate long-range capacity planning through management of Master Schedule and challenging Planning Data Integrity to achieve effective Replenishment Planning.
    • Coordinate the flow of information from Production to Customer Service Teams to ensure alignment to the Customer Order Book.
    • Provide timely and professional responses to all relevant requests from stakeholders, particularly customer-driven queries.
    • Liaise and collaborate with the Purchasing team to deliver results through effective planning and communication.
    • Review and collaborate with Finance Teams to ensure WIP variances are closed out within specified time frames.
    • Identify excess and obsolescence and propose actions to alleviate inventory impact.
    • Perform Finite Scheduling activities through the VAPS MoM system in times of absence of Short Range Planner.
    • Support the Business in participation of customer, BSI, and regulatory audits.
    • Promote and implement 5S improvements and activities.
    • Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by your manager.

    Essential Qualifications

    Maths GCSE Grade C or higher is required.

    Desirable Qualifications and Experience

    APICS – Basic Supply Chain Planning is preferred but not essential. Experience in Microsoft Excel would be advantageous.

    Skills and Knowledge Required

    Knowledge of MRP and advanced planning and scheduling is necessary. The ability to problem-solve and challenge operating parameters within scope would be beneficial in this demanding role.

    Experience Required

    A minimum of 3 years' experience in a Resource or Production Planning Role is essential. Experience in an Engineering factory environment is desirable but not mandatory.
