    Description

    Job Summary:

    We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our client's team in Norwich, UK.

    This is a full-time, permanent position that requires flexibility and excellent fitting skills to ensure the highest industry standards are met.

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Work as part of the Survey/Fitting team in a modern manufacturing environment.
    • Collaborate with other departments, including Mechanical Fitters, Wire Persons, Test Engineers, and Engineering.
    • Support operational requirements for the MoD in the UK and/or overseas.
    • Occasionally support Field Service Engineers on outwork in the UK or overseas.
    • Work under pressure to meet tight time schedules.
    • Undertake training to become a Mechanical Fitter and survey/build/manufacture items from component level to sub-assembly level.
    • Receive and execute work instructions from the MRO Manager.
    • Record survey results and train/support other personnel within the MRO/Fitting areas.

    Person Specification:

    • A skilled, experienced mechanical fitter or machine builder/assembly technician.
    • Completed a recognised apprenticeship in a relevant discipline.
    • Minimum NVQ/City & Guilds level 3 education in a relevant field.
    • Able to read technical engineering drawings and use precision measurement equipment.
    • Excellent bench fitting skills using hand and electric tools.
    • Ability to use manual machine tools and lifting/slinging equipment.
    • A good team player with initiative and self-motivation.
    • Aptitude to produce high-quality workmanship and adhere to safety and quality standards.
