This post is aimed at doctors who wish to spend time working in a medical educational role within Education Faculty in Colchester.


The delivery of undergraduate medical education is led by the relevant Associate Dean (AD - for BLSMD/UEA) or Clinical Sub-Dean (ARU School of Medicine), supported by their Deputy (DAD), Clinical Tutors (CT), Junior Clinical teaching Fellows (JCTF) and administrative team.

The majority of our existing students are from Bart's and the London Medical School (years 3-5), with some Year 2 students (Respiratory and Paediatrics) from UEA.

Anglia Ruskin School of Medicine (ARU) opened in 2018 and is now sending year 1-5 medical students to us on placement.

This post was created to support the increasing numbers of ARU students attending our hospital on placement.

This will include Year 1 students who have teaching sessions on a Thursday afternoon, as well as year 3, 4 and 5 students, supporting with timetabling, clinical skills teaching and general support whilst on placement.

Although predominately responsible for ARU student teaching the post holder will be expected to cross cover with the other teaching fellows as appropriate.
