The ABER Instruments Support Team is seeking to appoint an individual who is both product and customer oriented, with good attention to detail and a team player.
Based in Aberystwyth, we are an employee owned company with over 35 years experience manufacturing monitoring instrumentation for the brewing and biotech markets.

Main Purpose
Duties to include
- Play a key role in ABER's Technology team, devising support strategy and creating new support materials.
- Report customer complaints and make sure these are resolved in an effective and timely manner.
- Represent and champion the customer's views within ABER.
- Perform lab research/testing to preempt or replicate customer issues with ABER equipment.
- Maintain ABER's lab and its inventory during research and testing periods.
- Integral part of the RMA process (customer returns), liaising with the R&D, Production, Service & Repair and Quality teams.
- Travel globally to perform training, product demonstrations, resolve problems, to attend exhibitions and to provide commissioning on customer sites in a professional way.
- Suggest product ideas and product improvement ideas to ABER's internal management from customer experiences and collaborative projects with customers and partners.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
- Able to present, teach and train technical staff.
- Strong investigative skills with attention to detail.
- Practical experience with lab and scientific instrumentation.
- Ability to plan and devise experimental protocols to achieve preset objectives.
- Demonstrable drive and enthusiasm for your work.
- Be analytically sound and have a systematic thought process.
- Be able to work effectively, both independently and as a part of a team.
- Be adaptable in their ways of working between lab and support team duties
- Respond well to working in a challenging foreign environment.
- Strong commitment to project completion.
- The ability to build relations and influence at all levels.
- Ability to produce and present technical scientific papers.
- Adept at Microsoft Office and should be proficient with Microsoft Windows installations.
- Be at ease organising, planning and executing their own travel.
- Capable of freely travelling globally; hold a full, clean driving licence.
Salary:
£22,250.00-£23,320.00 per year
