Youth Work coordinator


Kinetic is a national charity that delivers youth work and informal education services within the secure estate (prisons), in Youth Offending Institutes with under 18's, in the adult estate with 18-25-year-olds and in some secure children's homes and education settings.

We have been delivering these services for twelve years and have robust methods, policies and processes in place.

Our work is unique in supporting individuals who struggle to engage. It is very challenging due to the circumstances, but very rewarding due to the individuals we work with.

As we grow as a charity and secure new contracts we are looking to recruit to the following:


Youth Work Coordinator full time including evenings.
JNC £28,491 - £32,597 p.a. (or pro rata of £ £16.94 p.h.)


Job Summary:


The post holder will be responsible for the coordination of youth services across the Kinetic portfolio in line with Kinetic Youth Ltd policies and procedures.


Main duties and Responsibilities:


  • Coordination and delivery of youth services including youth clubs, activities and projects
  • Management, development and delivery of a comprehensive face to face curriculum programmes of work to young people
  • Ensure effective planning and evaluation procedures are used to maintain high quality delivery
  • Development and delivery of recorded and accredited outcomes for young people where possible
  • Recruit and appoint parttime staff as necessary
  • Ensure the appropriate training and support of parttime staff so as to provide a high quality service to young people
  • Liaise with prison staff and other colleagues where appropriate/required to support the development of youth work programmes
  • Ensure effective communication links are developed and maintained with all partners
  • Income generate as required for the specific project
  • Provide timely, accurate and relevant management information as required
  • Comply with Kinetic policies which support equality, diversity and antidiscriminatory practice
  • The post holder will have the health and safety responsibility for youth services delivered


We accept this is a challenging role and we have high expectations as these individuals have been let by down so many already.

However, we do have numerous staff welfare practices in place to support individuals willing to take on the challenge.
