About the role
As a People Administrator at Motorway, you are pivotal in ensuring various departments, processes and employees are working in unison.
This role facilitates the flow and protection of information so that all employees can work smoothly when it comes to people related matters.
This role suits a people professional who has a systematic approach, highly organised, detail-oriented and relishes getting multiple tasks completed in a day.
You will play a leading role in maintaining the communication between the people team and the wider business, helping resolve queries and in most cases, will be the first point of contact for administrative activities.

Reporting to the Head of People, you will be part of a team of 6 and be responsible for people administrative activities.

What you'll be doing:
- Dealing with employees' queries about HRrelated issues on behalf of the people team.
- Create new starter records, updating records and keeping things aligned with Manager/People Partner initiated changes.
- Collaborating with People Partners on certain people projects where administrative support is required.
- Create regular reporting and understand the purpose behind, drawing insights.
- Assist with payroll department, providing relevant employee information (such as leaves of absence, sick days, work schedules etc.).
- Liaise with external partners, like insurance vendors (BUPA), ensuring legal compliance.
- Organising employee records to ensure a clean HR system.
- Conduct and/or support with relevant employee checks such as Right to Work and DBS verification.
- Support with preparing relevant HR documents, such as probation passes, reference letters, employment contracts etc.
- Ability to revise current policies and recommend where there may be gaps, or updating required.
- Preparing and organising information: as an Admin, you will have access to sensitive information and need to keep this stored. You will need to mitigate risk with both digital and paper information. Organising them properly for any potential audit.
- Work standards: you must demonstrate high standards and morals. These must be aligned with Motorway's values and exude integrity, respect and diplomacy.
Requirements:
Alongside encompassing the Motorway values, as a People Administrator, you will be expected to show:
- Self-driven and learning focused mindset with a willingness to learn: Administrators don't need to know everything, but morale is boosted if everyone in the organisation believes you care and have an open mind.
- Excellent organisational skills, very detail oriented and ability to work with a mínimal error mindset.
- Ability to prioritise independently and be highly proactive.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Administrators need to treat all people equally and know how to best utilise them based on their unique talents, skills and experiences.
- A humble, trusted team player with ability to work independently, with the ability to handle confidential information.
- Collaboration: encouraging teamwork across all levels and departments.
- Ideally some payroll knowledge would be advantageous, as well as some experience with an HR software, such as BambooHR, Personio, HiBob, Workday, Workable.
- A good understanding of UK employment law, expert knowledge is not required.
