Due to continued business growth, we are looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our team here at
Essential Industrial.

The role will be Permanent Full-Time, Office Based in Preston.

The main purpose of our Accounts Assistant role is to assist with the seamless operation of the accounting and financial procedures within the office.

In particular, assisting with sales ledger and purchase ledger duties such as checking invoices, filing invoices and statements as well as dealing with purchase enquiries.


Other duties include the following:

  • Updating the debtor's ledger
  • Efficiently resolving customer queries by liaising with other teams, to ensure that customer service is at the centre of all communication
  • Evaluate credit risk for new and existing customers and ensure credit limits are within the guidelines, set by the financial controller
  • Posting and allocation of customer payments
  • Ensuring statements and invoices are sent out within agreed timeframes, to reduce late payments, or queries
  • Process supplier invoices
  • Adhoc duties delegated by your line manager
  • Experience in Credit Control / an Accounts department
  • AAT level 2 or equivalent
  • The ability to plan, prioritise and organise your own workload
  • A competent understanding of MS packages (Outlook/Excel/Word etc)
  • Excellent customer focus and telephone manner


Our Accounts Assistant should also be an enthusiastic team player with a positive approach, enquiring mindset and a flexible attitude.

You must have the ability to plan, prioritise and order your own workload. As well as being generally organised, with strong time management and administrative skills. Accuracy and attention to detail are key.

Salary:
£23,000.00-£27,000.00 per year
