Air Import Operator (Customs Experience Required)

Deos Staffing, a leading global recruitment firm specializing in the Freight Forwarding and Logistics sectors, is currently seeking an experienced Air Import Operator with strong Customs experience on behalf of our esteemed client based in Heathrow.

Salary:
£30k-£34kpa

Responsibilities:

Coordinate and oversee the quoting, routing, rating, monitoring, and overall coordination of international air import shipments.
Ensure timely and efficient movement of cargo from pickup to delivery, liaising with clients, Customs officials, and agents to facilitate smooth operations.
Prepare and process all necessary documentation required for export, import, and Customs clearance processes.
Track and trace cargo as needed, ensuring accurate movement and timely delivery.
Maintain accurate billing and cost information in the system for invoicing and job costing purposes.
Communicate with customers regarding freight disposition, providing tracking and tracing information, routing options, and rate quotations.
Collaborate and correspond with other company branches and agents to ensure exceptional service execution and customer satisfaction.
Seek the most profitable mode of shipment while meeting customer requirements.
Adhere to KPIs including DNI, LNR, cost accuracy, and ROTP.
Ensure compliance with company, industry, and Customs policies and regulations.
Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Strong working knowledge of import rules, regulations, governance, and documentation preparations, particularly in Customs processes.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to thrive in a fastpaced environment.
Strong organizational skills to handle high volumes and demands.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Physical ability to operate a computer, including talking, hearing, and using hands for keyboard and mouse operations.
Capability to sit for extended periods of time and walk within the warehouse for freight inspections.
Vision abilities, including close vision and focus adjustment.
