About the role:


Step into the role of a jewellery assessor and embark on a thrilling journey where you'll immerse yourself in sorting, researching, curating, and listing a dazzling array of jewellery items daily.

Collaborate closely with your team and leaders to make informed decisions, all while working independently but harmoniously within the team dynamic.

At Vintage Cash Cow, every day brings new lesions and discoveries.


Key goals and objectives:


  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of vintage, antique, and silver jewellery alongside costume jewellery.
  • Sort an average of 78 boxes of jewellery per day and expand your knowledge across department categories.
  • Curate approximately 80 highquality lots daily, aiming for 95% accuracy in all aspects of the jewellery department.
  • Master the art of identifying gold and silver jewellery at a glance, including UK and foreign hallmarks and maker's marks.
  • Create lucrative lots from various jewellery categories to generate income.
  • Identify item ages through clasps and findings, separating highend, fine, and collectable pieces for alternative selling platforms.
  • List grouped lots with precise and detailed descriptions using the company's listing tool.

In your first three months you will:

  • Learn the ins and outs of sorting a wide range of costume jewellery.
  • Attend comprehensive departmental and company training sessions.
  • Foster effective communication with all team members.
  • Develop a knack for decisionmaking regarding item categorisation and selling platforms.
  • Adapt to a fastpaced environment whilst maintaining a thirst for continuous learning and knowledge sharing within your department.

In your first six months you will:

  • Cement your role as an individual team member, prioritising clear communication with colleagues and leaders.
  • Deepen your knowledge across various jewellery categories.
  • Maintain a stellar quality control rate of 95% or above.
  • Aid the team in achieving departmental KPIs whilst consistently meeting personal targets.
  • Accurately maintain departmental tracker sheets on a daily basis.

In your first year you will:

  • Master the art of sorting, curating, and listing jewellery with precision and efficiency.
  • Contribute to department housekeeping initiatives.
  • Demonstrate adaptability to evolving departmental and business needs within a dynamic environment.
  • Continue to seek out learning opportunities without compromising efficiency or accuracy.

Essential skills and experience:


  • A profound understanding of precious metals and the ability to recognise hallmarks.
  • At least 3 years of experience in the jewellery industry.
  • A passion for embracing evolving work environments.
  • Strong computer literacy skills.
  • Exceptional teamwork abilities,
  • Experience handling costume and precious metal jewellery.
  • Enthusiasm for embracing a dynamic working environment.

- up to £26,500 depending on experience

  • 40 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday
  • Start time between 78am, finish time between 34pm
