Employee Relations Partner


As an Employee Relations Partner, you will be responsible for providing expert advice to our stakeholders, managing any risk whilst ensuring effective outcomes.


  • Contract: 6 month FTC_
  • Working hours: 21 hours per week (Wednesday / Thursday & Friday)_
  • Salary: Circa £43,400 (Pro rata to 21 hours)_
  • Reporting to: Employee Relations Manager_

You will help to keep our policies and procedures up to date and in line with best practice, and you will give managers the tools they need to manage people matters confidently.

As an excellent coach, you'll use these skills alongside your employee relations and HR expertise to deliver high quality, proactive case management and support for all employee relations matters.

Key responsibilities

  • Coaching and supporting managers with complex people matters, you'll be readily available when needed
  • Being the escalation point for any queries from the wider HR team
  • Working in partnership with HR and OD partners to continually improve how our teams work together to provide the right service to our stakeholders
  • Keeping up to date with employment legislation changes, identifying changes, sharing these with colleagues and planning how to incorporate the changes into our policies & procedures
  • Working closely with our legal team to manage all employment tribunal claims effectively
  • Support our approach to sickness absence management and drive improvements and consistency to how we manage this across the service
  • Delivering on projects such as our resolution procedure, workshops for managers and other policy updates
  • Making sure fair outcomes are delivered in an efficient way making sure no customers having to wait longer than necessary
  • Always putting customer experience first and proposing practical solutions
  • Working together across HR to ensure the service we deliver is seamless for our customers
  • Being a role model for excellence in customer service and delivery
  • Promoting and helping to build an inclusive working environment
  • Delivering a fair and efficient service that reflects the diversity of our customers and our people

You'll have to meet the following minimum criteria:

Minimum Criteria

  • Having proven HR experience in a similar role and organisation
  • Using your good understanding and knowledge of employment law to advise customers and solve problems
  • Having excellent organisational skills and able to prioritise and multitask
  • Great communication skills and able to influence diplomatically and effectively at different levels
  • Using your analytical skills to review data and look for issues, trends and identify changes we could make
  • Building excellent relationships around HR and the whole organisation you know how to work collaboratively with others to solve issues
  • Working well under pressure when there's a lot on
  • Being pragmatic, resilient and motivated to do the right thing at the right time
