Role Outline


This role will work with Subject Matter Experts and other partners to design, develop and implement compelling learning programmes for potentially every functional group within the company, this includes Sales, Delivery, Operations and Corporate Support.

These programmes will be developed and delivered in a blended format.

This role will be responsible for engaging in the full instructional design and development cycle and will also be responsible for using and recommending technology-based tools to improvethe instructional integrity of Allegis Group's learning materials.


The Instructional Designer will take validated business problems and create blended, engaging and interactive learning programmes to address specific business needs, As well as the design of new solutions, the Instructional Design role will lead on the maintenanceand updates of existing learning programmes - evolving them as technology and thinking develops within the industry.


Core Responsibilities

  • Identify learning solutions from a brief using different needs analysis techniques
  • Challenge 'received wisdom' if it will not impact on individual and organisational performance or is not aligned with organisational goals
  • Present a solution or proposal back to the business
  • Respond to feedback to improve the learning solution
  • Devise ways of measuring the effectiveness of learning
  • Plan a project to minimise the workload
  • Prioritise workload to execute with excellence
  • Determine a balance between the best solution that could be achieved and what can reasonably be achieved within a timescale
  • Evaluate projects and evidence impact
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders
  • Build strong relationships with internal customers
  • Manage the competing demands of internal customers
  • Improve on personal expertise of technologies in constant use such as Articulate 360 and Vyond
  • Ensure anything built can be accessed in a smooth and accessible way
  • Seek out new technology to improve the learner experience
  • Work out ways to combine the use of technologies in the toolkit for the very best user experience
  • Stay current in learning theory and user experience
  • Serve as an advisor to colleagues in the business on instructional design techniques
  • Proactively keep up to date with market trends in learning
  • Take responsibility for personal development and pro-actively seek learning opportunities outside the organisation

Experience Required

  • Experience of developing blended and digital learning solutions, including video and mobile learning, with a track record of writing and creating digital learning storyboards and audio scripts for video
  • Use of authoring including Articulate 360, Vyond, Adobe Creative Cloud e.g. Rush
  • Execution of customer focused, impact driven, efficient learning solutions
  • Proficiency in learning pedagogy and experiential learning
  • Project / Stakeholder Management
  • Experience in effectively communicating project priorities and developing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Rigorous, independent execution as well as ability to work cross function, with stakeholders and 3rd party providers
