This role is based at our Little Flyers setting at Ingliston, Edinburgh Airport, with extensive outdoor space and a small cosy 21 place nursery with scope to expand.

Little Flyers have a unique and diverse outlook for children and staff in Early Years.
Whilst not compromising on quality nor legislation, we are influencing and shaping the changes we believe are needed in the sector.

This is not only in the way we deliver Early Learning and Childcare, but also advocating the respect and value our educators and practitioners deserve.

Our partner companies are Jets Activity Club and High Flyers Recruitment, and we are proud to have over 20 years of experience with Children and Young People.

Our current Senior management team and leaders across the companies consist of
Three family directors, where one works as the Business manager.
Operations manager, Lead setting managers, development and support manager, learning and development manager
Room leaders and Little Flyers mentors

  • Hold an HNC/SVQ 3 in Childcare & Education or equivalent and willing to undertake further training.
  • Strong knowledge of GIRFEC, Realising the Ambition, Curriculum for Excellence, My World Outdoors amongst other local and national guidance.
  • A knowledge of Outdoor Education /Forest School would be advantageous
- however a passion for working in the outdoors and a willingness to learn is essential.

  • We do this by following the Froebelian approach and principles, along with Pedagogy participation and inspired by Hygge.
  • Supporting and developing an enabling environment that is child led using indoors, outdoors, and beyond.
  • Selfmotivate and strong, outward thinking person who can lead and support.
  • Effective communicator with excellent customer service skills.
  • Be a positive role model within a great team, ensuring delivery of highquality practice with a passion to meeting the individual needs of all children including those who require additional support for learning.
  • Keep up to date with latest best practice.
  • Be able to display high quality practice and monitor the delivery of rich learning opportunities and exceptional care that helps all children to develop and meets their individual needs.
  • Reliable and motivated individual with a passion for childcare and development, who can work on their own initiative.
  • To observe, plan and assess children as a key person and upload information on the Family software app.

Salary:
£11.00-£12.50 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
