The purpose of the role is to ensure that the customer receives a high-quality product in line with process and product specification.

The role will support the manufacturing process, and will primarily be focused on the setting and running of machinery within the Workshop and where necessary the fitting and assembly of composite components for a range of customers in line with company documentation including specifications and drawings.

Job Description:


The role is accountable for the integrity of products delivered to customers and for working in and creating a safe environment by adhering to all health and safety requirements.


Responsibilities:


  • Safety to use and maintain tools and equipment safely and in line with instructions, create a safety culture.
  • Quality to produce product to the required standard and to complete accurately and timely all documentation associated with the manufacturing process.
  • Cost to work in line with standard hours and avoid unnecessary waste, organise activities to maximise productivity
  • Delivery to work in accordance to deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
  • People to work in accordance with company values and support colleagues when needed
  • Continuous Improvement to identify and report any opportunities for improvement and be adaptable to change.

Tasks:


  • Undertaking a variety of machine shop activities and processes dependant on the business requirements, including, lathes, turning machines, saws etc
  • Using a range of air tools, machine and drill components using trim and drill jigs or by measuring from technical drawings
  • Assembly of composite components using standard fasteners such as riveting and anchor nuts.
  • Cleaning and finishing of products using polishers
  • Ensuring the preparation of the bonding surfaces are clean and contamination free.
  • Bonding using various adhesives and putting components into ovens for curing.
  • Completing job cards and other required documentation accurately and timely and in line with process.
  • Assist in the running of the CNC machine
  • Communicating effectively with other departments to share any issues and contribute to the smooth running of production.
  • Contributing to a variety of Continuous Improvement activities within the Workshop area and the wider team.
Qualifications and Experience


Education:


  • Good standard of education
  • Relevant qualification would be desirable

Experience:


  • Manufacturing experience
  • Undertaking general machine shop activities
  • Hand tool usage
  • Working to instructions and competing documentation
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal
  • Experienced working in a team.
