Accounts Assistant

Cheadle, Staffordshire

Company information
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Assistant to join a well-established company in the Staffordshire Moorlands area. The company works in an exciting and fast paced industry and is currently experiencing significant growth. This has created the need for additional support within the Finance team.


Main Duties
Reporting to the Management Accountant the role includes but is not limited to:

  • Resolve purchase requests received from other areas of the business
  • Deal with payment requests received from other areas of the business
  • Control petty cash and reconcile on a monthly basis
  • Provide support to other areas of the business when necessary (MD, Fleet, IT)
  • Support the purchase ledger function to ensure all invoices are appropriately authorised
  • Assist with importing costs into the businesses CRM system
  • Support the generation of customer invoices
  • Assist with credit control processes
  • Answer incoming calls into the finance department, resolving issues where possible
  • General administrative duties
  • Cover other members of the team during holidays and busy periods

Person Specification

  • Well organised with the ability to prioritise


  • Strong IT skills

  • Excel and Word
  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Able to work on own initiative and solve problems

Job Type

  • Full time / permanent

  • DOE
  • Monday to Friday 40 hours per week
  • Office based
