Hourly Rate:
£13 per hour

Location:
Totton, Southampton.

Type of Contract:
Full-time (FT), Part time (PT), Bank

Hours of work: 12hr shifts awake for nights hours a week)

The person you will support is a male in his 40's is non verbal, and has been diagnosed with Autism, Learning Disabilities and can challenge.

At night he finds it hard to sleep and can stay up.

During this time, you will need to be patient and interact with him to keep him calm to help him get to sleep.

He is a very energetic young man who forms close bonds with people he can trust.

He enjoys going on drives, going to the gym, engaging in the community as well as going on walks in the park and by the beach when it's sunny.

He also enjoys spending time in his home, foot and hand massages, foot baths and engaging in daily activities, like puzzles and tidying up.

He is very proud and happy that he keeps his home tidy and neat.

He would like his team members to i) be able to drive him to his activities; ii) be very patient and understanding as it is very difficult for him to communicate and express what he wants and how he feels.

He can understand and use some Makaton as well as PECS but is non-verbal and needs intense support from his team to engage with him in a kind way and prompt him when necessary.

The work can be demanding at times but his current team will also tell you that it can also be very rewarding and fulfilling as you make a difference to people's lives
