Are you looking to make a difference? To help improve an organisation's succession challenges and career development opportunities? If so, we have a great opportunity to join our Organisational Development Team as an in-house expert in the creation, design, development and maintenance of all digital learning interventions and mandatory learning programmes.


If you have experience of creating and delivering Learning & Development initiatives and strategies, and managing a Learning Management System in a public sector organisation or similar, together with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a range of audiences, we would love to hear from you.


About the role

In this role you will:

  • Work within the L&D team, contributing to the development of an imaginative, creative and forwardlooking learning and development offerings.
  • Design and commission a range of learning and development activities ranging from courses that are to be provided to large groups of staff through to bespoke activities provided to single members of staff.
  • Maintain a smooth process for the onboarding of new elearning courses and instructorled training.
  • Be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and enhancement of our learning management system.
  • Collate and issue regular reports on online learning activity and progress against targets.
  • Resolve issues in relation to the Learning Management System, which is the software platform on which the elearning is hosted.
  • Work closely with colleagues across the council to build collaborative relationships with managers and staff to support a greater understanding of and confidence in utilising Learning & Development solutions.

About you
To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Experience of the instructional design lifecycle from inception, testing, development and implementation through the use of instructional technology such as Learning Management Systems and authoring tools.
  • Experience of developing learning content to appeal to a wide range of audiences using a range of channels.
  • Excellent organisation skills to ensure that the Learning Management System is coherent and up to date.
