Night Support Worker

£23,840 per annum - 44 hours per week

HMP Group are recruiting on behalf of our client, who are a rehabilitation provider committed to the treatment and care for those suffering with addiction for a
Waking Night Support Worker in
Barnsley.

Duties will include:

To engage effectively with the client group
To prepare and distribute medication to clients
To be prepared to work towards NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care if not already obtained
To undertake regular training and supervision sessions inhouse and externally
To ensure clients safety is maintained and monitored over night
To update client files with observations and changes of clients mood and behaviour on a nightly basis
Archiving and maintaining the archive files both paper and electronic.
To follow instructions and handed over information from support staff.

Requirements/must haves:

Good organisational and time management skills.
Level 2 or equivalent, care certificate

Waking night is rotation of three nights one week and four nights the following week - averaging at 44 hours per week over seven days so flexibility is essential

Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
Competent within the demands of the role in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
Strong active listening skills
Ability to negotiate and influence effectively in terms of professional boundaries.
Ability to develop and review risk management plans.
Ability to express empathy and a nonjudgmental attitude with a calm, caring approach.
Capacity to handle intensive and pressurised situations.
Strong customer service skills.
