Trainee Procurement Officer:
Rench Farm, Drumclog
The Trainee Procurement Officer will be responsible for procuring goods and services for the company at the most economically advantageous option in a timely, cost effective and ethical manner.
Working as part of a close team you will be able to work well with others and under tight time constraints and learn key skills such as providing pricing and delivery information to support other teams.
Education:
Graduate level educated or minimum 4 Highers and looking to undertake further education.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Provide pricing and delivery information to support the Estimating / Operation teams in constructing timely and accurate bids/proposals.
- Develop and maintain a proactive approach to sourcing, selecting and developing suppliers including formal vendor register and assessment processes.
- Place purchase orders for goods and services and expedite delivery as required.
- Update in house systems and databases to ensure compliance to the highest levels
- Maintain all necessary systems, procedures and processes to ensure that QHSE standards are met.
- Developing and implementing systems of Materials/Inventory/Plant control and reporting.
- Liaise with other members of the Production and Commercial teams as necessary to ensure that high levels of internal and external customer service are provided.
- Maintain uptodate central electronic filing records of all relevant documentation.
- Carry out adhoc duties within scope & purpose of job.
Skills required:
- Learn to provide pricing and delivery information to support the Estimating/Operation teams in constructing timely and accurate bids/proposals.
- Willing to develop and maintain a proactive approach to sourcing, selecting and develop relationships with suppliers.
- Train to place purchase orders for goods and services and expedite delivery as required in line with Company protocols.
- Be Graduate level educated or minimum 4 Highers and looking to undertake further education.
- Demonstrate time management to prioritise workload and business requirements.
- An interest in learning about Supply Chain and Construction.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
