Are you finance professional looking for a broad-ranging role that also creates social value? My client's looking for a Head of Accountancy Practice who is able to support all their clients with all their financial compliance and regulatory needs.

My client is a financial management consultancy and accountancy practice with a difference.
Their purpose is to help the social economy to thrive, and they do this by providing their professional finance skills to charities, social enterprises, and other purpose-led organisations where social impact and environmental sustainability are as valued as financial success.
My client continues to see strong demand for their services and therefore is looking to grow their team of 16 staff.
Leading the Accountancy Practice division, you will have responsibility for a portfolio of approximately 50 small businesses, ensuring that annual accounts, company and personal tax returns are prepared and submitted.
You will advise on technical accountancy matters such as VAT to the whole Adding Value team, and support the Finance Business Partners with technical and tax queries for core clients.
My client has very strong growth plans for the Practice part of their business, and expect the number of small businesses they support to increase significantly within the year.
Responsibilities:
Liaison with a wide range of clients, being able to explain financial information to them, keeping them informed, and managing their expectations in the delivery of our services.
Preparation, review and timely submission of annual accounts, corporation tax returns and personal tax returns in line with regulatory standards.
Line management of bookkeeping staff, reviewing their work and supporting their development.
Provide technical accountancy expertise to the whole team on tax issues and compliance issues.
Line management of the Payroll Manager and the payroll function
Skills:
- Qualified Accountant, ideally with a Practicing Certificate
- Ability to prioritise workload to meet deadlines.
- Good communication skills, able to work with a broad range of clients and colleagues.
- Ability to work autonomously and problemsolve.
- Knowledge of what a strong financial controls environment should look like
- We are Xero partners and seek to be at the forefront of the digitalisation agenda. Experience of cloud accounting and IT adaptability advantageous.
- Ability to work with others to distribute tasks and delegate responsibilities as required.
- Ability to coach and train others.
- A positive attitude, willing to take on new challenges and learn new skills.
- The ability to understand, challenge and support the decisionmaking of valuesled organisations, where missionled outcomes balance with financial goals.
- Leading, managing and influencing how the business develops and grows.
