Our client based in Doncaster is urgently looking for a full time HGV mechanic.


With over 30 years in the transport and warehousing industry, Our client offers a solution for all General Haulage requirements, from full load deliveries, Biomass transport services, Pallet Network Distribution (Palletways and Pall-Ex), European full load and Network delivery service, Warehousing, Fulfilment and commercial vehicle servicing and repairs.


They have a new fleet of DAF trucks equipped with Double Bunks, Fridge, Microwave, TV, 24v 240v Inverters, Climate control, leather steering wheel and much more.


They operate 150 trailers, including curtain sided trailers, walking floor trailers, Moffett mounted curtain sided trailers, skeletal trailers, refrigerated box trailers and low loaders.

This is an immediate start Monday to Friday. Each Team is made up of a trainer, a Supervisor, senior technician, technician and apprentice.

Role Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the mechanical and electrical repair, preventative maintenance and modification of the Ryder fleet and customer vehicles:
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical defects on all vehicles and related ancillary equipment, replacing parts as and when necessary in line with Company and legislative requirements
  • Carry out preventive maintenance in accordance with McGregor Logistics policies and procedures
  • Complete all relevant paperwork and documentation to the required standard
  • Provide on the job training for junior technicians and apprentices
  • Continually identify warranty claims and escalate these to the appropriate person
  • Ensure all repairs carried out are to the required standard
  • Ensure the work required is completed
  • Ensure that unplanned work is either completed or has been resolved to a satisfactory standard
  • Remain up to date with the latest vehicle technology and changes by attending company training programmes. Person Requirements
  • Previous heavy goods workshop experience essential.
  • Class 1 driving licence preferred. Hours Technicians 10 hours a day, 06.00 until 16.00 hrs.
  • Overtime available if wanted Benefits
- £18.00-£19.00 per hour depending on experience and qualifications
