We are recruiting for a family-owned business who specialise in the manufacture of bespoke Compression, Torsion and Tension Springs for home and export markets.

Job Overview

We currently have a permanent vacancy for a spring maker, reporting to the

Production/Purchasing Manager.

Key duties (but not limited to):

Skilfully set up and manufacture springs to exacting specifications
Expertly choose and employ the appropriate materials and tools for spring production
Inspect your own work to uphold quality standards and prevailing Health and Safety requirements
Make necessary adjustments where required
Organise and maintain own workspace

Requirements:

Experience in spring manufacturing/mechanical engineering
Have used and set coiling machines, preferably CNC
Able to read engineering drawings and use supplied measuring equipment
Have experience in small batch and volume manufacturing, to wire range 0.2mm to 4mm and beyond
Good attention to detail and able to work to tight tolerances on coiling
Run machines at high speed
Take control of own work and move it to the next workstation
Ability to work on own initiative to exacting standards

Working Hours:
Monday to Thursday: 8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.

Friday: 8.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m.

Holiday entitlement: 33 days (including statutory)

Hourly rate:
£14.00 to £19.00 p/hr dependant on experience
