Due to project demandthe position of
Principal EICA Engineer has become available to join our
large team based in
Manchester.


This role is primarily for CMDP, our Southern Water framework.

As an experienced Principal EICA Engineer you'll be working in our Water sector providing technical expertise in Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation (EICA), contributing to the whole project life cycle from feasibility and conceptual design through to commissioning and handover.

You'll also hold responsibility for liaison and coordination with our clients, supply chain partners, contractors, stakeholders and third parties as required.

Role Requirements


An experienced Principal EICA Engineer you'll be working in our Water sector providing technical expertise in Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation (EICA), contributing to the whole project life cycle from feasibility and conceptual design through to commissioning support and handover.

This role requires a motivated and dynamic Principal Engineer with recent experience in documentation approvals and team management.

You'll also hold responsibility for liaison and coordination with our clients, supply chain partners, contractors, and third parties as required.


  • Degree in relevant engineering discipline (e.g. Electronic / Electrical / Control Engineering) Apprenticeships may be considered
  • Chartered or Incorporated engineer status with a relevant professional body or evidence of working towards gaining these professional titles
  • Good knowledge of design working practices and installation requirements of the discipline across a range of industries
  • 10 years engineering experience in the Water sectors
  • Knowledge of UK legislation and standards
  • Knowledge in the requirements for installation of equipment in process plants involving potentially explosive areas
  • Experience in the requirements for CE/UKCA marking of plant and equipment, including ATEX, PED, Low Voltage Directive, Machinery Directive and EMC Compliance
  • Awareness of risk identification, quantification, management and of HSE requirements
