Job Summary:
We are a successful and forward-thinking firm of Chartered accountants and business advisers in Wimborne, Dorset. This is an exciting long-term opportunity for you to join our dynamic accounts team.
Reporting to the Accounts Manager you will be involved in a wide range of administrative and clerical activities to help support and grow our firm.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Preparation of client working paper files.
- Sorting financial documents.
- Liasing with clients to obtain & maintain accounting information.
- Updating financial ledgers.
- Bookkeeping activities for a wide range of clients.
- Submission of finalised accounts and tax returns to Companies House & HMRC.
- Assisting the accounts team & liaising with the tax and payroll teams, as well as our partners.
- Basic company secretarial assistance.
- Identifying & proactively communicating advisory points to management.
- Assisting clients with accounting software and other bookkeeping queries as required.
- Working with other team members to develop & implement improved processes and services.
- Keeping up to date with any changes in accounting regulations.
Must Have:
- Strong administration, organisational and time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to manage a changing environment and focus on the firm's goals
- Ability to work independently in a highly organised way to manage multiple tasks and requests
- Friendly and welcoming manner with professional presentation
- A willingness to work with others and respect their views.
- Excellent IT skills
- Microsoft products (mainly Excel & Word).
Desirable:
- Experience in a private sector accounting or professional firm.
- Professional qualification / part qualified e.g. AAT.
- IT experience of bookkeeping packages (Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, IRIS etc).

Role Status:
- Full time
- Permanent
- Office based
- 37.5 hours per week (9am to 5pm)
