Quality Assistant

Job Purpose:

To assist the Quality Manager and Operational Team with ensuring the site is in complies with the Company Quality Management System (QMS), the BRCGS standard for food manufacturing plants, applicable food safety legislation and customer specifications/requirements


Quality Assistant

Key Accountability'sand Responsibilities:

Comply with company policies and procedures and legal obligations for a safe and healthy work-space
Communicate visual and dimensional product quality standards to line operators

To carry out inspections e.g housekeeping/Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) in conjunction with production personnel and according to an agreed schedule.

To document all such inspections and assist with the close out of actions.

To carry out internal audits on our QMS (quality management system) as per our audit schedules including writing reports and following up on agreed actions.

To carry out and or support periodic verification activities as per QMS schedules.

Examples include but are not limited to:
water sampling and testing, environmental monitoring, verification of scales and balances, checking temperatures of equipment and the facility. To record all such test activities accurately and promptly

To assist the quality team with delivering practical training of new and or revised Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to relevant personnel e.g.

production, warehouse, engineering teams and ensuring such training is documented.

Supporting the quality team with various investigations including but not limited to non-conformance reports, complaint reports, internal and external audit findings.

This may include blocking and inspection of suspect material or product.
To support the quality team with preparation for site audits (external audits and customer audits)
To support the quality team with maintaining various tracking registers and carrying out trend reports e.g. updating and reviewing non-conformance registers, internal audit registers, glass breakage reports etc.
To complete quality records for the various activities they carry out.
To check, organise and file quality records so they can be easily retrieved
To support the Quality Administrator with quality admin tasks where required (e.g. holiday and absence cover or in times of high demand)
Any other duties/ projects that are reasonable and within the skills and ability of the post holder
