Description

Responsibilities include:


  • To ensure the machine is clean, safe to operate, with all guards and stops working and in place, before the machine is operated on the first run of each shift, or as and when any engineering works have been carried out. To ensure the correct traceability documentation (startup check) is completed.
  • To ensure the machine runs in accordance with technical specifications, by selecting the defined programme settings, and checking the correct packaging and label details are being used.
  • To monitor packaging used on the line to minimise downtime on changeover, by ensuring there is always sufficient in place.
  • To investigate and resolve machine issues wherever possible to reduce downtime. To report more serious faults to Engineering without delay.
  • To ensure specific organic procedures are observed and carried out.
  • To ensure nonqualified staff do not operate machinery and equipment, and that no unauthorised modifications are made.
  • To undertake any duties on the line as required, for example, packing, stacking or loading.
  • In conjunction with the Line Leader, manage problems in relation to agency staffing, stock, paperwork, delays, or anything not understood.
  • To actively promote best practice in relation to Hygiene, Health & Safety standards and good housekeeping and support the Company's efforts to minimise its environmental impact and adopt environmental best practise.
  • To look to identify areas of continuous improvement and communicate ideas to relevant staff. To use tools and techniques such as 5s, root cause.

This role involves working on our 2,2,3 shift pattern (06:00 - 18:00), 40.25 hours per week.

This is an hourly paid role, paid in monthly instalments.
