Role Purpose:

Working in the UK Operations team, you will gain practical, hands-on experience as you help the team to fulfill the humanitarian projects and missions that we manage both in the UK and around the world.


As an intern, your principal role will be to support the team with the smooth running of the Operations function.

You will _work_ across all the different projects our team supports and be responsible for a variety of tasks, both large and small.

You will be a vital part of a lean team where every member counts.


You need to be a kind, smart, creative and highly motivated individual who is looking for a year-long placement as part of your undergraduate studies in the management of projects.


Objectives:

Research: Monitor inbound queries regarding ongoing projects and potential new projects and escalate them to the appropriate person; identify potential humanitarian opportunities and flag to the team; research contacts to develop our Operations contact lists; create briefing sheets for management and trustees as required; build/localise stories and pitch to our social media team.

Monitoring: track progress of projects and support or highlight to the UK team as appropriate; feed into reports that are produced on KAI activities.

Planning: creating and updating calendars with key fundraising events and promotional opportunities across different sectors.

Reporting: support the reporting on project activity to relevant internal stakeholders on a weekly basis, proofreading and inputting into global reports.

Administrative and logístical support: ad hoc support and tasks, minute taking and distributing key action points agreed during internal meetings both with the UK and global based teams, fundraising event support and organisation.

  • Current university student
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proactive and solution focused _work_ style and attitude
  • Strong desire to learn
  • Displays high integrity and honesty
  • Passion for humanitarian projects and social justice issues
  • Numerate and PC literate: in particular with strong Excel and Word skills
