Job Purpose The role exists to provide high quality and up-to-date health and wellbeing offerings for all staff within the Trust.

This ranges from a needs analysis, the working through the NHS Health and Wellbeing framework and diagnostic tools for the scoping of provision, working with our wellbeing partners, relationship building and being the key contact within the Trust for health and wellbeing plans.

To lead on and support the development and delivery of a Health and Wellbeing strategy/agenda, working with stakeholders to identify opportunities and formulate solutions to implement and develop workstreams and embed these principles.

Close working with our One Gloucestershire system partners and the wider communities as to best practice, initiatives, linking into relevant task and finish groups providing insight and solutions.


Supporting our staff and leaders, enabling our staff to deliver our vision of providing Best Care for Everyone, achieve our strategic People and OD objectives and ensure GHFT leads on the delivery of the NHS Long-Term Workforce Plan.

The Lead for Colleague Health and Wellbeing will lead the development of our wellbeing provision and collaboration with Subject Matter Experts, link in with opportunities outside of the Trust to provide staff with these opportunities and ensuring that we meet the requirements within the NHS Long Term Plan, NHS People Plan, NHS People Promise and Trust Objectives.

This role is a key stakeholder in the Trusts Cultural Improvement Journey and Staff Experience Improvement Programme and Workstreams.

To work across divisions, departments and with clinical networks to ensure that approaches to colleague health and wellbeing and implemented successfully and supports staff to deliver the highest possible standards to healthcare to the patient.


Key Relationships and Communication Lead for Colleague Health and Wellbeing is required to: - Develop highly motivated, skilled and engaged teams committed to delivering the best care for everyone and positioned to succeed in the ever-changing wellbeing landscape.

Communicate complex messages effectively and productively with a range of staff at all levels in the Trust up to Board and Non-Executive Director level as well as with our partnering organisations in healthcare and the ICB.

This includes a wide range of methods to communicate including business cases/reports, formal presentations to large numbers of people and more intense one to one interactions.

Act as the Subject Matter Expert and use specialist knowledge to advise a range of stakeholders.


Engage with local diverse communities, identifying opportunities to extend our network of critical friends and gaining feedback to help inform the Health and Wellbeing strategy/agenda.

Build and maintain positive and productive relationships both in the achievement of objectives and as a wellbeing lead/advisor for Divisional Directors, Senior Clinical leaders/managers at all levels in the Trust.

Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organisations and individuals, NHS England Workforce, Training & Education, NHS England, Professional bodies such as NMC, GMC and HCPC, partner organisations providing wellbeing services.

Build and sustain successful working relationships with colleagues in other Health and Care agencies to foster a strong ethos of partnership working and support the achievement of Gloucestershires Strategic (Sustainability) Transformation Plan.

Build strong networks with other Wellbeing colleagues in NHSE, locally, regionally and nationally.
