Job Purpose
We are looking for a proactive and driven HR Advisor to join our dedicated HR Central team working within the UK Lucy Group businesses to build strong relationships at all levels.
Working in collaboration with the HR Central Team and HRBP's to ensure the delivery of a seamless and efficient operational service to all areas of the business, developing tools and support materials to empower managers.
Job Context
The role will have a predominant focus on employee relations activity and will advocate best practice and ensure compliance with all Company policies, process and employment legislation:
- Coach and guide managers on all policy related issues finding ways to empower managers and enable them to manage their teams effectively (Leave, Occupational Health, Flexible working etc.)
- Guiding and supporting managers on disciplinary, grievance and capability processes and timings for action.
- Updating Company policies and procedures in timely manner with legislation and business changes
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual, who will get stuck into the HR activity, this role is perfect for someone who has solid experience in employee relations, good interpersonal skills and is looking for exposure to wider HR initiatives, whilst also willing to support the day-to-day operational activity.
Job Dimensions
- This is a full time, fixed term role for a period of 6 months
- This is a hybrid role as per our Working Arrangements Policy and will be based in the Oxford site with travel to Thame
- This role will report to the Senior HR Advisor and will be part of the wider HR Central Team
Key Accountabilities
These will include:
- Responsible for supporting and advising the business on employee relations issues including but not limited to dispute resolution, disciplinaries, grievances, absence management, and performance management
- Advise managers on management practice and ensure compliance with policies and procedures including in Employee Relations issues
- Ensure that policy, procedures, and forms are up to date, in line with current legislation and maintained according to ISO standards
- Responsible for ensuring the shared drives, employee files and relevant trackers are maintained and up to date
- Ensure the HR system (Oracle) is kept up to date and accurate and provide reports from Oracle on request
- Ensure all employees have the right to work, and support in the renewal and obtainment of visa and sponsorship requirements as needed
- Oversee all aspects of the Employee lifecycle, including but not limited to induction and onboarding, contractual changes, development, benefits and leaver process
- Supporting the wider HR Central team with HR operational activities and project work
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
- CIPD Level 3 working towards level
- HR experience in a generalist role
- Experience of managing and advising on Employee Relations activities including but not limited to Performance Management, Grievances, Disciplinaries, Absence Management
- Up to date knowledge of employment law
- A commercial, risk aware and driven mindset
- The ability to work under pressure
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Desirable Experience
- Worked in a Manufacturing and Engineering Environment
- Experience in using Oracle HRIS
