THE ROLE:

This is an exciting new position within the Faculty of Science and Health.

The post holder will play a lead role in the delivery of a major new strategic partnership with King's College London (KCL) to deliver a Branch of the KCL MBBS GEM course at the University of Portsmouth from August 2024.

This is of strategic importance to the University and region, intending to help address the health and wellbeing needs of the Portsmouth, South East Hampshire and Isle of Wight health and care system.


We are looking for a talented and innovative medical educator who will lead and develop colleagues and provide operational leadership to deliver the education and training in relation to clinical skills.

Where appropriate the post holder will be required to develop areas of the GEM programme which encompass essential clinical skills training.

They will strive to enhance the student experience by improving the quality of clinical skills teaching, implementation of good practice and to ensure high quality and continuous development in line with national and local strategic developments.

The role holder will also ensure the provision of clinical skills teaching and assessment aligns with KCL curricula and regulatory requirements.

The working pattern for this position is 18.5 hours per week (0.5FTE).
