Centrepoint, the UK's leading youth homelessness charity, is looking for a Night Supported Housing Assistant to join our Bradford accommodation based services at Coates Street.


About us


We help vulnerable young people by giving them the practical and emotional support they need to find a job and live independently.

Centrepoint provides homeless young people with accommodation, health support and life skills in order to get them back into education, training and employment.

We want to end youth homelessness by 2037_._

Together with our partners, we support over 16,000 young people each year.

Centrepoint Coates Street, Bradford, as a 52-bed hostel in Bradford with an existing team of 8 SHO's in place.

We are seeking a dedicated Night Supported Housing Assistant (NSHA) to join the team and to play a pivotal role in shaping a safe, welcoming, and high-quality environment for our Young People.

The NSHA will focus on focused on effectively assisting vulnerable young individuals, ensuring your work maintains an exceptional standard and promptly responds to client and commissioner requirements.

As the first point of contact in the building, you'll ensure a safe and inviting environment for young people and visitors alike.

Your duties will include addressing general inquiries, enforcing house rules to uphold safety, and maintaining a professional atmosphere conducive to the well-being of our service users, stakeholders, and guests.


About you

  • Are passionate about working with young people
  • Have experience working within supported housing settings
  • Are able to support YP with a range of high to low support needs
  • Can work independently, as part of a team and alongside a range of external partners.
  • Have strong communication skills.
  • Are looking to bring your energy, skills and enthusiasm to a new team of colleagues
  • Have an interest in working with USAC (Unaccompanied asylum seeking children)

What you'll be doing

  • Carry out regular building health and safety Inspections
  • Identify risk factors and respond accordingly
  • Identify and log repairs when required
  • Provide guidance and information to our YP in respect of managing their physical environments
  • Adherence in service to contractual obligations
  • Compliment the work of the Supported Housing officers as required
  • Respond to any safeguarding/child protection issues in a professional way and in line with contractual and Centrepoint policies and procedures
