This is an exciting opportunity to work on the Doctorate in Policy Research & Practice (DPRP) - a professional programme designed to enable experienced professionals working in a range of policy arenas (locally, nationally, and globally) to develop their policy analysis expertise without having to take a full career break.

About the role:

You will work in a small Professional Doctorate team alongside one other Programme Administrator as well as the Programme Officer (your line manager) - who between them support two other (similar) professional doctorate programmes - as well as with the wider team within the Doctoral College.

This role will have sole responsibility for the DPRP programme

Activities will include:

  • Liaising with academic staff, Programme Director, Doctoral College colleagues, Academic Registry, Finance and other professional services.
  • Creating and maintaining accurate student records on the university's SAMIS (SITS) student database, in accordance with Data Protection and Freedom of Information Acts.
  • Supporting the induction of new students onto the programme, including enrolment onto the relevant units.
  • Monitoring student engagement and progression throughout the programme, including engagement with taught units, and completion of progression stages and 6monthly progress reporting during the research stage.
  • Collating and processing of student assessments during the taught stage (including supporting examination boards) and the submission of the final thesis and subsequent viva voce examination.
  • Ensure that the Virtual Learning Environment 'Moodle' is in place for teaching/research activities and other relevant information are available for students and staff.
  • Working alongside members of the administrative team to support other activities and programmes as required.
This role is offered on a part-time (22.5 hours per week) permanent basis.

We currently operate a hybrid model such that staff can mix working from home and on campus.

We are flexible as to the exact working pattern (days of the week and the mix of campus-based and home-based working), but the agreed working pattern will also be dependent on operational requirements.
