Job location:
Barton Under Needwood.

Shifts:
Days - 7am to 5pm Mon to Thurs and 7-1 Fridays


Salary:
£28,600 / £12.50 per hour.

Hours per week: 44

Client Summary:
Leading manufacturer and front line supplier of powertrain products based in the UK and Ireland. Areas of expertise include Engine Overhaul, final Drive Overhaul and locomotive refurbishment.

The job:
The role of the the steam bay cleaner is to clean vehicles and pack and wrap parts.

This role would also require the individual to drive various mechanical devices around site and also carry out general labouring duties as required.


Responsibilities:


  • Wash/ clean vehicles such as rafts, engines, rafts frames and transmissions using pressured washer equipment
  • Inspect for signs of damage/wear
  • Prepare vehicles for delivery
  • Must be able to pack and wrap products
  • Must be able to assist in site maintenance as needed i.e. litter picking, compact and bale waste
  • Operate forklift or other hand truck and heavy plant machinery.
  • You must maintain and operate heavy equipment and machinery, from forklifts, cranes, battery Electric vehicle, etc
  • You should be able to load and unload materials and equipment across the site. This will involve manual handling of materials.
  • Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies.
  • Work to and support all relevant 5S activities
  • Report any near misses
  • Ensure that waste is disposed of in the correct manner
  • Report any faults/ issues with jobs to the line manager
  • Take on any other reasonable responsibilities or tasks that are within the employee's skills and abilities
  • Adhere at all times to the company's Health, Safety & Environmental instructions and requirements

Background:

  • Good verbal and written skills
  • Flexible attitude to work able to change hours and responsibilities with mínimal notice.
