Job description:


  • This is a really exciting, sometimes challenging and fastpaced role working within an already established and very collaborative Programme Management Office (PMO). You will work closely with the rest of the Business Management Team in your collective goal of supporting both the PMO and the wider delivery areas. No two days will be the same and you will need to be willing and able to prioritise tasks regularly, whilst remaining passionate about the wider PMO objective in supporting the 1* Programme Director, enabling project delivery within DIO MPP UKStratCom. Being proficient in the use of Microsoft Office is key to this role.
  • As a hybrid role, the expectation is that the Assistant Business Planner will combine home working and working in the office depending on business needs.

Person specification:

As the Assistant Business Planner your duties will include but will not be limited to:

  • Being the single point of contact for recruitment activity, this role will advise and guide recruiting line managers whilst acting as the liaison between them and Defence Business Services (DBS).
  • For new starters you will coordinate their MODnet account and ensure their IT equipment is ordered.
  • Process requests for external training and the payment of professional subscriptions.
  • Assist the Business Planner in their role as Information Asset Practitioner, you will maintain and report on the Cyber Control Framework on behalf on the 1* Programme Director.
  • Maintain Organisation Chart and advise the 2* area of any changes to the establishment table.
  • Assist the Business Planner with the 1* second line of defence (2 LOD) selfassessment audits on their behalf and collate/report on those from the rest of MPP UKStratCom.
  • Assist the Business Planner in the monthly forecasting of the workforce budget.

Desirable Experience & Skills

  • Experience of working within a Business Management or similar office environment.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office.
