Overview:


As the Charity Fundraiser and Marketing Support for the Welwyn Community Centre and Mosque, you will play a pivotal role in securing funds to acquire and develop our new facility.

This position requires a strategic thinker with a track record in fundraising and marketing and a passion for community engagement and cultural inclusivity.


Responsibilities:


Develop Fundraising Strategies:


  • Devise comprehensive fundraising strategies to meet the financial requirements for acquiring and developing the new facility.
  • Identify potential funding sources, including government grants, corporate sponsorships, individual donations, and other Charities and community partnerships.

Execute Fundraising Campaigns:


  • Plan and execute fundraising campaigns, events, and initiatives to generate donations and contributions from various stakeholders.
  • Utilise digital platforms, social media, and traditional marketing channels to maximise outreach and engagement.
  • Arrange and organise fundraising events for community volunteers, including managing travel logistics and collection methods (bucket, card readers, flyers, etc.)

Cultivate Donor Relationships:


  • Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, sponsors, and supporters, ensuring their continued engagement and commitment to the project.
  • Provide personalised contact to major donors, acknowledging their contributions and keeping them informed of the project's progress.

Marketing and Public Relations:


  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote awareness of the Welwyn Community Centre and Mosque, its mission, and its services.
  • Coordinate with media outlets, influencers, and community organisations to generate positive publicity and media coverage.

Collaboration and Coordination:


  • Collaborate with internal teams, including the board of trustees, volunteers, and staff, to align fundraising and marketing efforts with organisational goals and objectives.
  • Coordinate with external stakeholders, such as architects, contractors, and regulatory agencies, to ensure seamless fundraising and development activities integration.

Reporting and Evaluation:


  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of fundraising and marketing initiatives, tracking key performance indicators and metrics.
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations for the board of trustees and senior management, highlighting progress, challenges, and opportunities.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Proven experience in fundraising, development, or marketing, ideally within the nonprofit sector or community organisations.
  • Strong strategic planning and project management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of fundraising regulations, ethical practices, and best practices in donor relations.
  • Passion for community engagement, cultural diversity, and social impact.
