Child Autism Support Worker


Key responsibilities:

  • Assist with the delivery of the curriculum, including lesson planning and preparation
  • Work oneonone with children or in small groups to support their learning and development
  • Help children with autism to manage their behavior and stay on track in class
  • Implement behavior management strategies and work with children to develop positive behaviors
  • Communicate with parents, teachers, and other members of the autism team to ensure that children receive the best possible support
  • Keep accurate records and make observations to help teachers monitor and evaluate children's progress

Qualifications and experience:

  • A relevant qualification in autism support or a related field
  • Extensive experience working with children with autism
  • Knowledge of behavior management strategies and techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
