Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board seeks to appoint a Locum Consultant Urology Surgeon with an interest in laparoscopic nephrectomy and the treatment of renal stone disease for the patients of North Wales.

We aim to further strengthen our urology team to provide excellent care to the population of North Wales and the service provided at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd.

Based in Ysbyty Glan Clwyd the area provides the benefits and lifestyle of a scenic country landscape whilst providing excellent road and rail links with the rest of the UK.


Our offer will include:


  • Working with an excellent North Wales Urology Multi Disciplinary team.
  • A commitment to teaching, education research and audit with partnering organisations.
  • Support provided to add clinical leadership to the role to support clinical governance across the North Wales Urology service.
  • The hospital is superbly located in North Wales with its areas of outstanding natural beauty, and within easy reach of Chester, Liverpool and Manchester.


You will be on the Specialist Register, have CCSTs or recognised equivalent or be within 6 months of obtaining it at the time of interview.

For individuals who are appropriately qualified but yet to join the Specialist Register a locum appointment may be feasible.
