Description
Specific Responsibilities Accurate typing of clinic letters from audio dictation, and general correspondence, including individual reports as requested.

Typing of clinics is to be within a specified timeframe to meet standards and to ensure clinics are processed and letters filed in an acceptable timeframe.

To work collaboratively with the Principal Medical Secretary team and the Consultants to support them in achieving turnaround time of clinic letters and results and investigations.

To provide annual leave and sickness secretarial cover for the Principal Medical Secretarial team.


General responsibilities:
Understanding of procedures, investigations and terminology used within the Department. Prioritise and accurately type audio dictations.

Answer and deal with as appropriate telephone enquiries both internally and externally to patients, their families and health professionals in a confident, courteous and professional way, providing non-clinical information and ensuring any messages are communicated promptly and accurately.

Ensure all typing is accurately typed, prepared and arranged for Clinics prior to the Patient being seen, assist and work closely with other multi-disciplinary members to ensure continuation of work, forming a team approach.

Scanning documentation to electronic patient record. To offer flexible support to each member of the team during the hours allocated outside of your responsibilities.

Provide Secretarial and Admin support for Consultants and their teams during periods of Principal Medical Secretary sickness absence and annual leave.
