Description

An Administrative Coordinator is required for 37.5 hours a week to work as part of a team providing admin support to the South Theatres New build.


This busy department will consist of an admissions unit, operating Theatres, post anaesthetic Recovery and a POCU unit, and a small ward area.

The role involves contact with patients and their carers, both over the phone and in person.


This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is a dynamic and enthusiastic team player, with existing skills and knowledge in an admin setting, to integrate with the current team and provide efficient and effective support to the nurses, medical staff and patients.

Attention to detail is a must as are excellent communication skills and the ability to prioritise and plan.


The successful applicant will need to demonstrate strong team working skills plus the ability to work on their own initiative, communicating with all levels of hospital personnel as well as patients and carers.

As part of the role you will undertake general administrative duties to support the team.

Some duties include but are not exclusive to:
Ensure that an efficient administrative service is provided at all times

Ensure administrative cover for clerical and administrative colleagues for sickness/ absence and annual leave

Prepare the stationery order on a monthly basis

To make appointments on the hospital computer system for patients to attend the Unit for surgery

To make outpatient appointments for patients post-surgery

To ensure that case notes and other materials are available for each session and that admission packs are completed accurately
