Blue Forest Tiling is a fast-growing, locally owned business and is looking for an energetic and hardworking individual to join our team.

We are looking for someone who is reliable, professional and proficient in providing high standards of tiling.

Requirements:

What you must have:

3+ years experience in tiling
Strong mathematics and measurement skills
Confident and experienced with use of tile cutters and other tools of the trade
Ability to follow specific tiling patterns
Strong manual skills
Accuracy, precision and attention to detail
Strength and stamina
Eye for design
Ability to work without supervision
Knowledge of basic health and safety procedures whilst on site
Full drivers license and own reliable van/larger vehicle to carry materials/equipment to site
Punctual, reliable, and honest
Have a positive attitude and be friendly with customers

Responsibilities:

In order to ensure we can provide you with a consistent balance of tiling work on our projects, we will require you to carry out and take responsibility for the following:

Checking in with office on regular basis to ensure you have all details of your next projects up to a 4 week schedule
Collecting materials ordered for each project prior to their commencement
Arriving at allocated jobs on time with correct materials and equipment to start/complete project within set time frames
Laising with customers regularly to ensure they are happy with the work, and raising any problematic areas with customer and/or the office in a timely manner to avoid delay to the projects
Laying and setting tiles to create decorative wall, mural and floor designs at customers request
Cutting and fitting tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting tools
Preparing, measuring and marking surfaces to be covered, using levelling equipment
Aligning and straightening tiles using levels and squares
Cutting, polishing and installing all types of wall and floor tiles up to 600x600mm
Removing and replacing cracked or damaged tiles
Removal and/or repairing of grout between tiles
Leaving the work site clean and tidy at the end of each day, and upon completion of each project, advising aftercare of the tiled surfaces

Most of the projects for our customers will consisit of tiling alone indoors, using your own initiative.

However, you may be required to work outdoors, alone or with a team of other construction professionals from time to time.

As you will be aware, the job is physically demanding - you will have to bend and kneel for long periods of time, and be able to lift heavy materials.

Some tiling projects may require the ability to climb ladders and scaffolds throughout the job sites. You must be able to work safely and take special precautions to protect yourself and others against injury.
This role may require the ability to use proper safety equipment where necessary.
Most projects are located around Southampton & the New Forest, Hampshire. Occasional travel further a field may be necessary and expenses will be compensated accordingly.

You must be available from 8am - 4pm Monday - Friday.

Additional hours may be required during inclement weather/delays on site to ensure work is completed for customers within set time frames.

You will be CIS Registered. This role is on a self-employed basis only.

Payments will be made for full days worked, invoiced directly to Blue Forest Tiling on 7-day payment terms.

Salary:
£155.00 per day
