The Off Trade Category Specialist plays a pivotal role in the function of Brand and Business Insights (BBI) within Brown-Forman UK.
Insights helps form everything we do at Brown Forman and is positioned centrally amongst the Commercial and Marketing functions giving you visibility and exposure to core aspects of the company.
This role requires an ambitious, tenacious and inquisitive individual who is always seeking to add value through data interrogation (the "what") and insight generation ("so what").
Responsibilities are wide ranging, with the role offering different challenges each day from being involved in building company strategy, engaging and informing various colleagues and working closely with customers.
The role will have sole responsibility for several Off Trade accounts with the ability to take on more as the role evolves.

What You Will Do In This RoleValue Creation through Category Leadership- Work with Off Trade National Account Managers (NAMS) and Customer Marketing to lead on identifying opportunities and build collaborative, joint business plans to grow the Spirits category for both the customer and Brown-Forman- Develop and manage Joint Business Planning days and create create an immersive session which wows the customer- Support the Senior Category Manager on their account base and on strategic projects- Collaboratively work across the broader brand and business insights function and in conjunction with brand and sales managers to create a holistic business picture and powerful insights that gives our customers competitive advantage- Be the face of Brown-Forman category in all of your assigned accounts, building relationships, dealing with ad-hoc requests and constantly looking for opportunities- Analyse current environment, category, customer and retail trends aiming to forecast future developments- Support the BBI team to further enhance and embed the Brown-Forman Category Vision
Drive for Results- Provide NAMs with support to build customer propositions for new products and to monitor and improve performance of existing Brown-Forman products- Support the BBI team to answer questions from leadership on performance and key opportunities, taking the lead on these questions when needed- Support the Senior Category Manager to scope and embed the picture of success for B-F across the Off Trade when needed- Support the Customer Marketing team to help ideate, guide, monitor and measure all sales activation and investment in outlet- Assist in both internal reporting and commissioning and delivering ad hoc projects when required
Lead and Inspire- Create and deliver impactful presentations based on your ideas to the wider business on key strategic issues within your channels- Work collaboratively with colleagues across all functions to assist in the creation of one team- Act as a role model of Brown Forman values- Support a Diverse and Inclusive culture where different perspectives are encouraged, and individuals feel connected and valued
What You Bring To The Table- Education: High School/GED/Secondary School;- Experience: Have a proven track record of using a broad range of consumer, category and or shopper research and sources of data (Nielsen, Kantar, IGD, Dunnhumby, SIP etc.)- Have prior experience in a branded products business, preferably within FMCG, agency or client side- Have experience in, and confidence to present to large groups, key internal stakeholders and external customers- Are comfortable utilising large data sets to create quick analysis and impactful insight- Have a good knowledge of the UK Off Trade market (is a plus)
